Profile:
Frenzy is, by far, one of the most violent and destructive of the Decepticons. As such, he is also one of the least frequently deployed of Soundwave's minions, due to Soundwave's preference for more subtle methods of carrying out his missions. But when Frenzy is permitted to join battle, the tiny Decepticon's actions are usually enough to rally retreating and defeated Decepticons into launching a fresh offensive. Frenzy is fearless, boldy challenging opponents two or even three times his size; his boldness and zeal for battle alone are usually enough to put the fear of Primus into even the most resolute Autobot, and his screaming voice - amplified by the tape reels in his torso - causes many Autobots to flinch. The Decepticons respect Frenzy's value as a tool of psychological warfare and his enthusiasm for battle, often allowing him to take point in a charge against Autobot battle lines; out of battle, Frenzy's belligerent nature makes him hard to deal with. Frenzy's love of violence is an all-consuming obsession; he is single-minded in its pursuit, and he doesn't really care who the violence is directed against. As such, when there aren't any Autobots around to terrorise, Frenzy has been known to pick fights with his fellow Decepticons (in particular his brother, Rumble) out of boredom, often damaging vital equipment in the Decepticon base in the process. It is widely understood that Soundwave keeps Frenzy securely stored within his chest unless his particular skills are required for this very reason.Cassette mode:
Author notes:
Frenzy was a tricky one to write, since in my memory he almost never appeared in the Transformers cartoons. I decided to work that into his bio - we know from his old Marvel profile Frenzy is a violence junky, so why not write him in a way that explains Soundwave simply chooses to not deploy him unless he is needed. And because Soundwave favours a subtle approach, Frenzy doesn't get to come out to play too often. Also - yes, to me, the cartoon is foremost in my mind, so Rumble is blue and Frenzy is red. I know that they're generally taken to be the other way around, but I need to go with the versions I have the most attachment to, and in this case, that means the blue cassette tape is Rumble. I've written in a nod to the debate in that Frenzy doesn't like Rumble - it's based on the fact he keeps getting mistaken for his brother. As mentioned in my Rumble post, I also believe Frenzy fits into the "red Oni" persona, so having a red colour scheme fits that personality theory; granted, that is the sort of thing you can find to justify a position and doubtless there are some suitable counterarguments out there.
