Profile:
By most accounts, Shockwave is one of Megatron's most loyal followers. He unquestioningly obeys all instructions handed down to him from the Decepticon commander with terrifying, lethal efficiency. While it is a matter of debate whether Megatron truly trusts anyone, he trusted Shockwave enough to give him command of all Decepticon operations on Cybertron when the Nemesis left Cybertron in pursuit of the Ark. Megatron was confident that, unlike some of his other lieutenants, Shockwave would not use the opportunity to build his own powerbase and try to depose Megatron. And Megatron was right - to a point. Cold, brutally efficient, and completely devoid of any form of emotion, Shockwave has the kind of personality most humans would expect from a living machine. Shockwave often states that he considers emotions to be an encumbrance; a mark of a lesser being. Things like anger and bloodlust are below him. When Shockwave acts, it is with the rational, sterile, clinical approach of a scientist who is trying to deduce the solution to a mathematical problem. He is driven by pure, unfettered logic; his every move and strategy are all in service of the same end - what is the most efficient way to eliminate the largest number of Autobots and other obstacles standing in the way of his vision of a "perfect" Cybertron? Shockwave thinks nothing of sacrficing dozens of Decepticon soldiers in the course of achieving victory; this has made many Decepticons reluctant to serve under Shockwave, but few ever dare to desert as Shockwave considers it perfectly logical to make an example of would-be deserters to keep the rest of his troops in line. Few have ever stopped to consider that, driven by logic as he is, Shockwave only serves Megatron because he deems it logical to do so. Those who have considered this point have often arrived at a disturbing conclusion: Shockwave has absolutely no compunction against replacing Megatron, should he ever determine that it is logical to do so.Laser Cannon mode:
