Timeline: Generation 1
Conquest is made of the ashes of one's enemies.
Profile:
The Decepticon second-in-command, Starscream is the quintessential untrustworthy lieutenant. In spite of portraying himself as more refined and sophisticated than Megatron, he is every bit as ruthless, cold-blooded and cruel as the Decepticon commander, with an added dose of pettiness. The difference between the two is that while Megatron rarely makes a secret of his opinions of someone - friend or foe - Starscream will act pleasant and friendly, charming his way into the trust of those around him. But Starscream is phenomenally ambitious, and thinks nothing of stabbing his allies in the back, if it secures his advancement. His ultimate goal is to lead the Decepticons, and he makes little secret of his intention to overthrow Megatron. Starscream believes it is inevitable that he will replace Megatron. In his own eyes, Megatron is a relic whose strategies are antiquated and a poor fit for the current nature of the Cybertronian war. While Starscream feels that Megatron's emphasis on overwhelming destructive force was appropriate at one point in time, Starscream feels that time has passed, and that the Decepticons should instead prioritise guile and speed, areas which Starscream excels in. It is precisely because Starscream is so exceptionally good at aerial combat and coordinating the Decepticon air forces that Megatron puts up with Starscream, in spite of Starscream's legendary record for treachery. Besides which, Megatron knows that keeping Starscream close is the best way to keep an eye on the scheming air commander, and ensure that nothing comes of his plotting.Jet mode:

One feature I like with this version of Starscream is it comes with the cape and crown to recreate Starscream's coronation sequence from Transformers the Movie! It's a nice extra for the set. The cape in particular is very well done, with balljoints and a concealed hinge to allow the cape to hang naturally behind Starscream, or swoosh out dramatically when he raises an arm (as we see during the scene he wore this gear).
I much prefer this version of Starscream to the MP-3, even though I've warmed up to MP-3 in recent years.
